In the Field
Behind every clean front ensemble is someone shaping the sound in real time. As a drum corps audio technician, I run the console during field rehearsals and performances — balancing keyboards, synths, and microphones so every note the players earn actually reaches the audience.
That work blends my two worlds: the educator coaching musicians toward precision, and the engineer making sure the technology serves the music. It's the same standard I bring into the classroom — listen critically, adjust with intention, and never settle.
I lead by creating momentum. Students do not just receive information, they feel a direction. Every rehearsal and lesson is designed to make progress visible and effort meaningful.
I push for excellence by setting clear standards, modeling professional preparation, and coaching with precision. That balance of encouragement and accountability helps students develop both confidence and craft.
Before performance outcomes, I focus on habits: consistency, reflection, and resilient practice. The result is growth that lasts beyond one concert cycle.
